Popjustice describe Lights as “already halfway between popstar and superstar”. I find it hard to disagree. ‘Ice’ is already one of my favourite songs discovered so far this year. 21 year old Canadian, Lights (who’s real name is in fact Valerie Poxleitner…ssssh not as cool), was playing some dates in the UK last week and is back again in May. I can’t be expected to remember the details so it’s just as well she’s had the foresight to get a bloody MySpace.
