Jordin Sparks is getting ready to release her new album ‘Battlefield’ on 13th July. The first single from it, also called ‘Battlefield’, is slowly ambling up the charts. Meanwhile, this demo version of what could be the second single has emerged (and absolutely not leaked by the record company to generate hype) on a number of blogs. S.O.S. (Let The Music Play) samples Shannon’s 80s disco stomper of the same name. Have a listen:

I love it. Edgier than pretty much all of her other songs, SOS has potential to throw Jordin in a completely different direction. I look forward to hearing what the rest of the album has to offer.

‘Battlefield’ the single is out now, the album follows on Monday 13th July.

New Lady Gaga, Shakira eats a man, Preston is hot… …it’s MiTunes News

Lady Gaga will be re-releasing her debut album ‘The Fame’ later this year with new songs. It’s rumoured the special edition will be called ‘The Fame: Monster’. A new single called ‘New York’ is also rumoured for the Autumn. Meanwhile, a special Lady Gaga edition of popular iPod application Tap Tap Revenge is now available from the iTunes Store. It’s also rumoured she will be running for US President in 2012.

If you haven’t already seen it, Preston from the Ordinary Boys is back and looking hot. His first solo single was Popjustice song of the day yesterday – head over there for a listen and a look.

Shakira is back with a new song later this month, it’s called ‘She Wolf’ and has one of the most bizzare teaser campaigns ever – check this out:

Apologies if I’ve blown the surprise for you, but, on the other hand, if you’ve already stumbled upon this and been concerned about the prospect of a werewolf on the loose in NYC – rest assured it’s just a slightly mental Colombian pop godess. My invite to the listening party for She Wolf obviously got lost in the post but the guys from Digital Spy were there.

And let’s take a quick look at how the mid week single chart is shaping up in the UK – David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland look set to knock Pixie Lott off the top spot, Take That are just inside the top ten, Jordin Sparks is just outside (but expect that to change by Sunday) and Stone Cold Sober by Paloma Faith and the Freemasons with Sophie Ellis Bextor are having a sniff around the top fifteen.

Here is the video for Jordin Sparks’ ‘Battlefield’. The will almost certainly be the biggest selling single of the year. I’m already a little bored of it if I’m honest. Anyone know if there’s a remix package knocking about?
